Why Colour Consultations Here Run Longer Than Elsewhere

Colour is chemistry. We treat it that way.

Colour results that feel editorial rather than obvious begin with understanding the hair's current pigment history. Our colourists will ask about every chemical service your hair has received in the past two years — not to be thorough for its own sake, but because that history changes how the colour develops, how long it holds, and whether a particular technique is the right one for your hair at this moment. The amber-gold lighting in our studio replicates the warm spectrum of natural sunlight, which means you can assess the result under the conditions closest to how others will see it on you — not under the harsh white light that makes salon results misleading.

Colour Techniques We Specialise In

Each technique is matched to your hair history, texture, and the level of maintenance you can commit to.

Balayage & Freehand

Hand-painted lightening for a gradient that moves naturally with the hair. Low-maintenance regrowth — typically 10–16 weeks between appointments. Starting at $185 CAD.

Full Colour

Root-to-tip colour application using professional-grade permanent or demi-permanent formulas. Results last 6–8 weeks with proper care. From $130 CAD.

Gloss & Toning

A translucent tone applied over existing colour to neutralise brassiness, deepen dimension, or refresh faded results. Usually 30–45 minutes. From $85 CAD.

Corrective Colour

Complex colour correction for hair that has been over-processed, colour-stripped, or unevenly lightened. Requires a paid consultation appointment before any chemical service begins. Pricing determined at consultation.

Honest Expectations for Colour Results

What we can guarantee, and what depends on your hair.

Colour results depend on factors outside any colourist's complete control — the porosity of your hair, its processing history, and the care routine you maintain at home. We will always give you our honest assessment of what is achievable in a single appointment and what requires multiple sessions. We do not promise a result in one visit if the hair's condition makes that unsafe. Our colourists will provide a written care guide at the end of every colour appointment, including recommended product types and wash-frequency guidance specific to the technique used.

I came in with three years of box-dye build-up and a reference image that most colourists had told me was impossible. The team at Lumenilumen gave me an honest timeline — three sessions over five months — and delivered exactly what we planned. The amber tones in the studio light actually helped me see what we were building toward.
